Welcome to Yogiez!

Interested in doing yoga on the Dutch island Terschelling? Junior, senior, beginner or advanced: everybody is welcome!

Yogiez offers yoga classes in high season (May, June, July and August). Hatha yoga, yin yoga, Pranayama and meditation. Classes indoors and outdoors. Check out the schedule and book your spot! 

  • HATHA YOGA

    Hatha yoga is a basic form of yoga. In hatha yoga the focus is on the postures (asanas) and on the breathing (pranayama). ‘Ha’ means sun, the active and the male energy. ‘Tha’ means moon, the inactive and the female energy. The main goal in hatha yoga is to bring the energy (prana) in balance and while we balance our energy we bring our mind and body in balance too. Hatha yoga is perfect for beginners but also for advanced practitioners. I offer more options so everybody can enjoy the yoga.

  • YIN YOGA

    Yin yoga is a more relaxed form of yoga. It is a kind of meditative form of movement. In the yin yoga the postures will be hold for over 3 minutes with a maximum of 5 minutes. Yin, in contrary of the active yang, is inactive. In the posture you try to do as inactive as you can by relaxing all the muscles, let go of everything and let the gravity do its work. By doing this you reach the deeper layers in the body (joints, tendons, ligaments, connective tissue). Also the focus will be on energy lines (meridians) in the body. The goal is to balance the energy (qi) in the energy lines and in the body. Everybody can practice yin yoga. Every posture can be made suitable for you so you can fully relax and enjoy the positive effects of the yin yoga.

  • PRANAYAMA AND MEDITATION

    Pranayama is a word from the Sanskrit language. ‘Prana’ means vital energy or life force, ‘ayama’ means controlling or extension. Pranayama is the conscious awareness of the breath and controlling the breath. In the Pranayama/hatha yoga class there will be extra focus on Pranayama. In the Pranayama/meditation class there will be a focus on Pranayama and meditation practices with weekly variation.

Yoga Classes

In May, June, July and August yoga classes. In May, there will be four days a week of yoga classes. In June, July and August there will be yoga classes everyday (except of Sundays). Schedule will follow soon.

'Boszaal' at Ieders Plak

The indoor location is located in West-Terschelling. The classes will be in the ‘Boszaal’ at Ieders Plak.

Garden of 'T Golfje

The outdoor location will be in Midsland. The classes will be in the beautiful garden of restaurant ‘T Golfje.

The costs of a yoga class are €10,-. If you want to join a class, it is necessary to book your spot.

For the yoga classes outdoors, please take €10,- in cash with you. For the yoga classes indoors, online payment.

On the outdoor location in Midsland the class may be cancelled due to bad weather circumstances. In this case, you will be informed on the day itself (at least) before 7:00 AM. Also these yoga classes are in collaboration with Pura Vida Foodbar Terschelling. The class includes a voucher for a delicious cup of tea at Pura Vida Foodbar Terschelling!

About me

Namaste!

My name is Ezra Goudzwaard. I first made contact with the concept of yoga when I was still studying for my bachelor in Cultural Anthropology and development studies at the Radboud University in Nijmegen. From that first moment, the first yoga class, yoga ignited a passion in me that I could not resist. During my bachelor, I specialized in religion and philosophy of Asia, where I studied the ancient yoga scripts. I then moved to India to conduct field research into the practices of yoga tourism. This lead to my Bachelor thesis ‘spiritual yoga tourism in India’.

After my studies I decided to focus on developing myself as a yoga practitioner. During and after my studies I travelled all around the world. The experiences that travelling has brought me allowed me to grow as a yogi. I met the most fascinating yogi’s who taught me valuable lessons. Also, I achieved two intensive yoga teacher certifications – 200 hours of Hatha yoga and 50 hours of Yin yoga.

Today, yoga is a lifestyle for me. Yoga teaches me a lot in life and I enjoy yoga every day. With Yogiez I hope to share my knowledge to you, so you can experience the joys of yoga as well!
